Medicine in Armenia

Country Overview

Armenia is an emerging destination for international medical students seeking quality education at an affordable cost. The country’s medical degrees are recognized by organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG), making it easier for graduates to pursue medical licensing or further specialization abroad.

Yerevan, the capital city, offers a safe and welcoming environment with a rich cultural heritage and modern infrastructure. The cost of living is relatively low compared to many Western countries, making it an attractive option for students.

Regarding employment, international students enrolled in full-time programs at Armenian universities can work part-time without a separate work permit. However, it’s important to note that while the opportunity exists, the availability of suitable jobs may be limited, and knowledge of the Armenian language can be beneficial for securing employment.
