Key Steps for EU Graduates:
1. NMC Registration
Create an account and submit an application via the NMC online portal.
– Submit evidence of your qualification, identity documents, and proof of English proficiency.
2. English Language Requirements
– IELTS (Academic): Overall 7.0, with minimum 6.5 in writing and 7.0 in reading, listening, and speaking.
– OET (Nursing): Grade B in reading, listening, and speaking, and C+ in writing.
3. Nursing Qualification Assessment
– The NMC will assess whether your training meets UK standards. If there are minor deficits, a compensation measure may be required (e.g. adaptation period).
4. Criminal Background and Health Check
– Submit a police clearance certificate from your country of residence.
– Provide a health declaration and possibly a medical test.
5. Decision Letter and OSCE
– If the NMC approves your documents, you may receive an invitation to take the OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) in the UK.
– Once passed, you will be granted full registration and can practice as a Registered Nurse (RN).

Step-by-Step Pathway for Non-EU Nurses
1. NMC Eligibility and Qualification Check
– Apply through the NMC website.
– Provide proof of your nursing diploma, registration, and experience.
2. English Language Proficiency
– IELTS (Academic): 7.0 overall, with at least 6.5 in writing and 7.0 in other skills.
– OET (Nursing): Grade B in reading, listening, and speaking, and C+ in writing.
3. Computer-Based Test (CBT)
– Once eligible, you must pass a CBT (part 1 of the Test of Competence).

4. Health and Background Checks

5. Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE)
